PROGRAM OVERVIEW & ELIGIBILITY

The training program is designed for the candidates who are desirous of perusing a career in the Engine category in merchant shipping and ought to become Marine Engineer or Engine officers.

Course Outline

Introduction to the shipping industry, Familiarization with Engine department of the ship, Types of Engine, Types of pumps, Fuel system, Maintenance & operation of Machinery, Rebuilding an engine, Lifesaving appliances, Survival at Sea, Swimming, Personality development, English & Computer, etc.

Certificates Provided

Student after successfully accomplishing the training the program will be awarded the course certificate, by the academy approved by Director-General of Shipping, Ministry of Surface, and Transport Govt. of India. In inclusion to the above candidate will also receive INDOS and foreign CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate)

Career Prospects

The candidate after successfully finishing the pre-sea training the course has to sail for a minimum period of 12 months in order to appertain for Engineer COC assessments/ exams.

Eligibility & Qualification

• Training Duration: 6 Months
• Eligibility: +2 Science pass (PCM) with aggregate 40% marks from a recognized Board / Diploma/ Graduate/ BBA/ BCA/ etc.
• Age Limit : 17.5 to 28 years (Male)
• Fully medically fit having Both eye vision 6/6 in both eyes (eye vision + or – 2.5 allowed) and no color blindness.
